NJ & Rob's e-shoot - August '10

The forecast for Saturday wasn't good and so we decided to do NJ & Rob's e-shoot at a very special indoor location rather than Whitlingham Park, and I for one am really glad.  The Conservatory is a wonderful place to shoot and we'll be going back there for the post-ceremony shots on NJ & Rob's wedding day.  The shoot was short but really good fun.  Here are a few shots:

Mandy & Richard - Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk

What an emotional day it was.  Having worked with Mandy last week to prepare a slideshow of old photos of her Mum & Dad, both whom passed away some years ago, which was to be shown as a surprise during the wedding breakfast, I knew it was going to be a really emotional day.  But I had no idea what an impact Mum and Dad had had on so many people in Mandy's family.  When the slideshow was playing there literally wasn't a dry eye in the house, and I confess I struggled to keep things together.  But as I always say, a wedding without emotion is just an event.

Mandy & Richard are just lovely people; caring, fun, proud and wonderful parents.  I've never had so many cuddles with a bride and groom as I did with these wonderful people on Saturday. It's so nice to be made to feel welcome even though you're 'just the photographer'.

On the day we photographed at 5 different locations over a 12 hour period, and somehow managed to avoid the torrential rain that was covering much of the country.  Over 350 people attended Mandy & Richard's wedding which was topped off with a fish & chip supper and fireworks at 10 pm.

Here's a couple of quick shots:

New Advertisement

With our next Wedding Exhibition just around the corner, I thought I’d better get a new advert together.  We'll be exhibiting in the Sunningdale Suite at Dunston Hall on September 26th. More info here.

Here’s how the advert is looking so far.  It’ll have more text outlining our exciting show promo/competition, which we’re running with one of our venue partners! More news about that soon......

I like the ad and have decided to use a similar layout for the new header of the blog.
What do you think?

Fun with Oakley

The saying goes "never work with children or animals" but I've always enjoyed photographing kids, you just have to know how to make them enjoy themselves.

Oakley the 5 month old beagle was my first attempt at shooting a 'young' animal and he definitely proved to be a handful! So much energy, only regular 'treats' would encourage him to stop running around frantically, biting chunks out of his owners, Ian and Amie! Lesson learned!

Here's a few shots:
